Are you a worm or a bird?

    January 22nd, 2009

Are you someone who dreams big? Or are you too busy just getting by?

People who get stuck procastinating often don’t realise it’s only because they are acting like a bird or a worm.

Want to know how this could be holding you back?

When it comes to where people choose to pay their attention it seems some of us prefer to be busy, busy busy always taking some form of action while others tend to think in grand visions, goals and dreams that they will achieve “one day”.

But how specifically is this a problem and what to do about it?

    Could you be a robot?

    January 15th, 2009

Would you be surprised to hear that one of the most empowering things you can do to take control of your life is to admit that you have almost no control?

Now this might sound strange coming from someone who is dedicating his time to helping you to take more control and empower yourself to overcome those bad habits and create a life you love.

    But let me explain.

    Are you disciplined enough?

    January 8th, 2009

It’s happened again, the New Year’s begun and the gyms are bursting with people who have decided to get fit and or lose weight.

People were queuing to get into our local gym yesterday evening and when I mentioned this to the physiotherapist this morning he said; well everyone knows that by the end of February it’ll be quite again.

It seems that the moments such as the coming of a new year, significant birthdays, the end of relationships etc. when we “wake up” to the passing of time in our lives many people decide they want to take action on turning their lives around. Read the rest of this entry »

    Happy holidays

    December 24th, 2008

I just wanted to take the opportunity to wish you a happy time over the holidays however you choose to spend them and to encourage you to create a fun, exciting and challenging 2009.

While I look forward to helping you in whatever way I can, in the end how much you enjoy the holiday and what you do and achieve during 2009 is going to be very much down to what you choose to focus on.

So rather than leave you with only my best wishes, I thought I’d leave you with some questions to ponder as you enjoy the next few days.

You see I know not everyone has a great time at Christmas and New Year- let’s be honest tough times and life challenges don’t always take their holidays when we do! Read the rest of this entry »

Procrastinating again? How clear is your intended future?

    December 5th, 2008

Experts agree that one of the most important skills you can develop in life is the ability to create your future in your mind before it happens.

This is commonly thought of as creating your personal vision of success or even just simple goal setting, but you may be surprised to find out that it is also crucial to overcoming many forms of procrastination.

If you think about it you can only procrastinate on something for which you have some form of outcome, otherwise how could you be procrastinating on it?

Are you someone who feels they would benefit from procrastinating less? If so read on… Read the rest of this entry »

    I can’t do that…

    November 28th, 2008

I’ve got a confession, the first week or so after my recent operation to plate my broken collar bone with my mind clouded by a lack of sleep mixed with the cycle of pain and grogginess due to the pain killers - I started to get into day-time T.V. documentaries.

One of my favourites was Ray Mears “Bushcraft” (Ray Mears is a British survival expert who tours the world learning the bush skills of native peoples).

In one particular episode he was teaching a bunch of people “friction bow” fire lighting. What I found fascinating was when he said that after watching for only a few minutes he could tell who was going to succeed and who wasn’t.

What would his observations predict about your life?

    Return of the Job Queue!

    November 20th, 2008

The fallout from the recent credit crunch seems to be at the root of the increase in people losing their jobs over the last few weeks and this is really got me thinking about the effect on your life of losing your job or even simply living under the threat of losing it.

There is no doubt that this is a really scary prospect for many people, the thought of unemployment and any resulting financial or social hardship is keeping many people awake at night worrying about what they will have to do.

Are you worrying about your job? Read the rest of this entry »

Would you like a “Magic Pill”?

    November 14th, 2008

There is no doubt we live in culture of rapid change, technological and medical breakthroughs seem to happen every few weeks.

Advertisers know that on average people’s attention span is shrinking and they are tailoring their advertisements to suit. They know they that you want instant quick fixes to the problems you face in your life.

    So that’s what they’re promising…

… and that’s what most people are buying!

Their messages appear plausible for a least two reasons: Read the rest of this entry »
