Unconscious minds – Running on auto pilot

    December 16th, 2010

Here’s another video from the back catalogue, this one explains more about the power of your unconscious (or automatic) mind and why conscious will power isn’t as effective as many people believe.

You’d be well advised to take your unconscious mind seriously, because whether you choose to recognise it or not, it is running your life. do you like where it’s taking you? If not what are you going to do about it?

Who’s world are you living in?

    October 28th, 2010

Over the last year I’ve been on quite a personal journey of personal development and growth, but while I’ve been away I have continued to receive requests from people who read the daily action tips, people who used to read the blog, or people who enjoyed my old YouTube videos. They have all asked for more of the videos.

So I have decided to empty out the “computer loft”, and share some of my earlier work for you to enjoy.

This first video covers some of the basics of NLP. But despite all of my later learning, I still think that NLP serves as a useful introduction to some ideas that can help liberate you from old thinking. Ideas that can help you see how to take the first steps to getting back in control of your life.

It’s interesting stuff, but understanding it talking about it isn’t enough. You have to actually apply it.

What you apply it too will depend on how “awake” you are.

Remember the biggest breakthroughs in personal development and the emergence of real choice comes from recognising your deepest habitual filters and choosing how you will respond.

Not just using NLP, or whatever, to do what you do habitually better.

    Here’s the first video.

    Hope you enjoy it,

    Anth.

Are you a Jedi or just dog meat!

    April 21st, 2009

I was having a coffee a couple of days ago, when I over heard a couple arguing over their teenage son – apparently the woman thought he was going off the rails and was arguing that they should both be harder of their son to make him tow the line – whereas the guy thought they should go easy to avoid driving their son away – this seemed to just pour fuel on the women’s anger…

I don’t know anything about the truth in their perceptions of the dangers to their son but I could see that not only where they going round in circles getting angrier and angrier with each other and getting no closer to influencing their sons behaviour in the direction they wanted.

They stood up to leave, glaring daggers at each other as they set off for the door, the women gave me a smile and the man following behind gave me a palms up, “What can you do?” look.

    Well, what can you do?

Comfort Zones or Walls in your mind

    March 11th, 2009

Well the Fear Program is now closed but I thought I’d share this with you, have you ever thought how “staying safe” is robbing you of a full life?

This short video will explain how you create limits in your life and what to do about it (you’ll need your speakers turned on to hear the audio) .

    Bye for now,

    Anth.

    Fear, Risk & Danger

    February 23rd, 2009

Fear can be a good thing because it can keep you alive, but the key to working and playing in potentially dangerous environements is not just a lack of fear, or mindless confidence it is developing the ability to understand and manage the risks assoicated and learning to manage your “fear”.

If you’re looking for total confidence make sure you pack your thermals ;o)

    What if?

    February 16th, 2009

    What if…?

Over the last few months I’ve noticed a pattern in the way many people talk and I want you to trust me because this is important.

I want you to STOP for a moment and think about two little words

    “What if?”

What comes up for you when you relax for a few moments and just say these words to yourself?

    What if?

Whatever your answer is it’s just perfect and it’s important… Read the rest of this entry »

    I want never gets…

    February 4th, 2009

Do you struggle to get motivated and follow through on what you think you should get done?

Have you ever wondered why that might be?

If you’re sick of trying to figure this out logically, then maybe it’s time to consider another approach as you recognise that most of your decisions on what you’re going to do are not logical!

The truth is whether you recognise it or not yet, you tend to make decisions at an emotional unconscious level and then switch on the logic to try and convince yourself you made a good decision.

These emotional drivers are very powerful and today I’m going to look at one of the most common traps that people fall into when considering what they should be doing. Read the rest of this entry »

Do you feel guilty about this?

    January 29th, 2009

Having fun should be fun, don’t you agree?

So why do so many people feel guilty taking some time off to have some fun?

Yesterday I logged a post on Facebook, through Twitter saying I was finishing touches to my thoughts for my outcomes session @ NLP Northallerton group last night.

One of my Facebook friends joked that the fact that you are on Facebook is a form of procrastination.

    This really got me thinking…

Is socialising and keeping up with friends on line just a new form of procrastination or could be a great way to be more productive?

What do you think? Read the rest of this entry »
